Guru's Grace - Sadhguru

Among all the Guru's that have graced my life, Sadhguru is one Guru with whom I have not had a one to one interaction, but in my heart it feels like there is a deep connection. Sadhguru is very much my kind of Guru - fun, energetic, playful - but rooted firmly in the purpose of spreading the message in a way people can understand.

Surprisingly, I've lived in Bangalore since 2000, and even during those days, there were "Inner engineering" sessions being held by Sadhguru - but I never was attracted to it. Like they say, the timing is important.

My first encounter with Sadhguru was as part of World Yoga Day in 2015. There was a massive Yoga session led by Sadhguru in Bangalore. I had a brief encounter with him, I was standing close to his path, when he looked at me and gestured a yoga pose. Subsequently over the next few months, I then enrolled for the Inner Engineering course in Bangalore. This was followed by many more encounters & visits to the amazing Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.

The Inner Engineering course and practices that he has designed, is powerful & fairly easy to follow. It is also structured in a way that as you progress, there are advanced courses. Amongst the path for self realization, this is the one where you learn mind and breath control techniques to essentially “reset” into your true Self. And to make it universal - the base course can be done by anybody - it doesn’t need any so called body bending skills! It is also mixed with quite a few pointers and direction on general well being & attitudes for happy living. And Sadhguru’s style is unmissable - I would recommend that you see least one video of his - He is an amazing communicator.

The Isha Yoga center in Coimbatore is a masterpiece. You can see the passion and commitment that went into it as you look at both the magnitude of the place as well as the attention to the smaller details. The railings, the floor, the landscape, the buildings and the carvings. The gigantic Adiyogi statue is pretty much a landmark now. Apart from the physical beauty of the place, one can also feel the energy & peace in the place. It’s amazing to see what one can achieve with a strong vision and supported mainly by passionate volunteers. The Isha Yoga Center does run a short term program for executives - to leverage some of these learnings in business.

While he engages people in a language that they can relate to, with an advanced seeker - he is direct. Only when you listen to him closely - can you understand the difference. Sadhguru has also taken on many causes - like conserving water by planting trees and most recently a campaign to get Temples in Tamil Nadu out of government control. And each of these are done in a very systematic way with enough research and data to aid you take an objective and rational decision.

Sadhguru is a Guru for the masses. His practices & methods attract a lot of people. And the serious seekers among them also have avenues to go deeper.

Thank you Sadhguru for all your blessings.
